Professional practice is an optional subject for students of a Bachelor's degree. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to develop students' professional, general and soft competencies, to support the acquisition of application skills and to obtain practical information on the operation of the organization in which the practice is practiced. Students choose to practice either at a company offered by the department or at a company they find themselves. The company selects students according to their own criteria and conditions, mostly on the basis of an interview. The student is in practice at the company for at least 10 days during summer holidays, usually during the months of July and August. Standard working hours are assumed to be 8 hours a day.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Course selection and practice 1. During the months of February, March and April, prior to the selection of optional subjects for the winter semester of the next academic year, the students are informed of the current possibilities for passing the professional experience in the cooperating organizations. At the same time, information is provided on the scope of the practice in case the student finds practice in another organization. 2. In case of interest exceeding the capacity of contractual organizations, students will be selected on the basis of study results (study average for bachelor study). 3. The student enrolls the subject of Professional Practice. 4. In the case of a request from a practitioner, a "Professional Practice Agreement" is established between the practice providing organization and the VSB-TUO EkF. The contract is prepared by the student in cooperation with the guarantor of the subject Professional Practice. 5. Student completes professional practice. 6. The practice is documented by a "Practice Report", which contains a detailed description of the activities performed for each day worked. Part of the report is confirmation of performance and number of days worked. The certificate is issued by the company - in writing and must be stamped by the company (if the company owns it) and signed by the responsible person. 7. During the credit week of the winter semester, the student is awarded the credit.
