Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The pedagogical aim of this course is students´ ability - to think analyticly and independently about economic phenomena and processes - to understand the sense and essence of the methodology of economic science - to analyze critically and to assess (including predictive power) microeconomic and macroeconomic models in the framework of main - stream economics - to analyze critically and to assess alternative economic theories (institutional, evolutionary, constitutional ... economics) - to synthesize microeconomic and macroeconomic approach to analysis of real economy.

Summary

The aim of the course is both to deepen the knowledge gained in the study of microeconomics, macroeconomics and international economics at the master's level, as well as to expand problem areas by topics normally included in the study at the doctoral level. In contrast to the subjects of the follow-up master's study, the theoretical component of teaching is significantly strengthened and the interpretation of the issue is based mainly on mathematically formulated models and advanced graphics apparatus.
