Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
• To define animation and various kinds of activities.
• To use acquired knowledge in the position of animator in a hotel, a spa or recreational facility, or a sports centre.
• To apply theoretical knowledge of creating animation programmes in practice.
• To use knowledge of installing various sport and recreational devices in tourism facilities.

Summary
The content of the subject called Animation and Hotel Sports is to define the term of animation, to present different types of animation and required personal qualities of an animator or animation manager. The emphasis is placed on the organization of animation activities in terms of economical and medical services, and the right choice of animation activities as a result of the familiarity with a certain tourism facility. Students become acquainted with the theory of recreational sport.

1. Introduction to Animation
- Definition animation relationship to other disciplines
- Prerequisites and possibilities of animation
- Personality animator and its application
2. Culture Animations
- Introduction to local cultural practices (folklore, traditions, typical features of local culture)
- Lifestyle locality (country), local characteristics, socio-cultural potential, products of local culture
- Cultural public figures, local minority
- The economy of cultural events
3. Animation Special Interest Group
- Animation for children and youth
- Animation for families with children
- Animation seniors
4. Fundamentals of Social Games
- Games in a small group
- Games rooms and outdoors
- Social skills competitions and contests
5. Wellness
- Definition of wellness
- The individual components of wellness
- Spa and hotel
- Development of a wellness stay
6. First Aid in the Animation Activities
- Principles of first aid
- Calling emergency services
7. Theory of Recreational Sport
- Principles of organization
- Principles of operation of various types of sports (skiing, biking, boating, walking and hiking, horseback riding)
- Necessary facilities and equipment for recreational sports
8. Sports and Relaxation Facilities in the Center of Tourism
- Distribution (fitness center, sauna, steam bath, solarium, massage, swimming pools) and the importance of sports and relaxation centers
- Suitability of installation of various facilities, amenities centers

The exercises are focused on mastering basic practical habits of individual sports disciplines, social games and build on mastering animation program.
