Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

1. To explain employees´ performance management model. 2. To clarify benefits and principles of employees’ work performance management. 3. To identify particular processes of work performance management. 4. To clarify importance of employees training and development within the work performance management. 5. To characterize methods of employees’ training and development within work performance management. 6. To describe process and methods of employees´ appraisal. 7. To clarify relation among motivation, satisfaction with job and performance. 8. To clarify process of 360 degree feedback, its advantages and disadvantages. 9. To explain difference between coaching and mentoring, to describe coaching process. 10.To describe processes of career planning and development, and to identify the most frequent problems in career. 11.To clarify conception of total reward and to define its particular components. 12.To characterize system of contingent/variable pay of employees. 13.To define intangible pay and to describe intangible pay used in practice.

Summary

The objective of this subject is to introduce to the students the issue of employees‘ performance in detail. In the introduction part of this course the students will acquire the knowledge of performance management model and its phases. Consequently, the individual processes of performance management will be introduced, i.e. employess‘ training and development, motivation and appraisal of employees, career planning and management. Considerable attention will be paid to the employees‘ remuneration.

Mandatory attendence participation: Attendance at the lectures is recommended. Range of mandatory participation in exercises - 80%. In the event of an increase in absences from classes or if the project is handed in significantly after the deadline, the student will receive an extra assignment. In the case of major absences, this will be handled individually with the department chair.

Conditions for subject completion and attendance at the exercises within ISP: Student must complete the following course requirements: team project + qualifying credit - test Course completion and participation in ISP exercises = attendance at the first lecture, presentation of the project, passing the credit test. If the project is submitted significantly after the deadline, the student will receive an extra assignment.
