Summary
The course Crisis Management provides students with a comprehensive view of corporate crises, their emergence, course, and effective management methods. The introductory part of the course focuses on the nature of crises, their characteristics, sources, and current trends affecting the business environment. Students are introduced to various approaches to crisis management and learn how crises arise in companies and what types and characteristics they may have. Emphasis is placed on understanding the process-oriented nature of crisis development, its causes, and the specifics of managing it.
A significant part of the teaching is devoted to the actual procedure for resolving a corporate crisis, identifying early warning signs, analyzing causes, and choosing appropriate measures. Students learn to assess a company's ability to continue operating and recognize the factors that influence this ability. Within this framework, prerequisites for the company's long-term existence, building its resilience, and sustainable operational strategies are also discussed.
The next part of the course elaborates on the principles and tools of crisis management and provides an overview of revitalization strategies, their key elements, and methods of implementation. It also includes crisis preparedness through the creation of crisis scenarios and plans, the work of crisis teams, and the implementation of early warning systems. Attention is also given to general methods of ending crises, specifics of valuing companies in crisis, and methods of analyzing their vulnerabilities. An integral part of the training is crisis communication, focused on managing both internal and external communication in challenging situations. The course also covers risk management, which is closely related to crisis prevention and the overall strengthening of corporate stability.
The course is project-oriented and emphasizes the application of theoretical knowledge in practice. Students work on practical tasks, case studies, and their own project proposals, allowing them to test and develop the skills needed to handle real-life situations. The course is intended for students who want to understand the dynamics of crisis development and resolution, master modern tools and procedures that enable organizations to successfully face unforeseen situations, and at the same time apply theoretical knowledge when solving practical examples in a project-oriented environment.
