1. Understand the scope and complexity of managerial psychology and sociology 2. Understand personality approaches with methodological frameworks and importance 3. Understand opportunities for influencing employee behavior (motivation, performance, job satisfaction, and so forth) 4. Understand work and organizational stress, consequences and prevention 5. Understand the importance of organizational culture

Summary

The aim of the course is a presentation of selected psychological and sociological knowledge and methods important for work and organizational context application. Selected topics will be discussed. Theoretical concepts are interconnected with cases. In this way is facilitated enhancement of students understanding of theoretical concepts and their applications.

1.Managerial psychology and sociology (interconnections with I/O psychology), topics, course structure, system approach (contextual factors influence) 2.Social science research, methodology, research methods and techniques 3.Individual (personality) in work and organizational context (person characteristics: abilities-intelligence, traits) 4.Attitudes, emotions, values, job satisfaction and consequences 5.Learning, application of learning theories in employee development 6.Motivation at work, application of motivation theories 7.Communication in working and organizational environment 8.Workplace and organizational stress 9.Work groups, groups dynamics, teamwork 10.Organizations and organizational culture
