Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the semestral course is deepening the acquaintance of students with a subjective aspects of performing the managerial work – i.e. managers´ personal prerequisities and their psychic processes, functions, and practices during fulfillment of managerial functions, psychological aspects of the effective managerial approach to the coping with demanding managerial situations and dynamics of managers´ interactions with their task and operational environment. Acquirement of the approach to the solution of managerial tasks in multicultural environment in form of intercultural competencies and ability of the successful coping of situations of cultural differences is further aim of the course.

Teaching methods

Summary

In the first part of the course in managerial psychology acquaint deeper students with a subjective aspects of performing the managerial work – i.e. managers´ personal prerequisities and their importance for the successful performance of the managerial activities, and psychological aspects of the coping with the demanding managerial situations in contemporary conditions. A dynamics of the managers´ interaction with the task and operational environment is explained. The individual approach to the managerial tasks, mental models of managerial situations and solved problems, the creative solutions, and a work load and psychic stress is particularly accentuated. The second part of the course – intercultural management – represent the introduction of student to the problems of the multicultural aspects of the managerial activities. Presented items are illustrated in form of the laboratory demonstrations with possibility of the self-estimation and use of psychological approaches and methods.
