Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
1. To transform the basic problems of general management into the management of physical education and sports.
2. To define the managerial functions in the sphere of sport's management.
3. To explain the students how to cope with managerial work in the sporting environment, its main problems in the Czech Republic and worldwide.
4. To explain the principles of human resources management and leadership in sports.
5. To explain the principles of the professional preparation of a sport’s manager.

Summary
The aim of the subject is to transform the basic chapters of general management into the management of physical education and sport. Rely on general management assumptions and look for specificity, peculiarities and problems of management's current sports environment. Emphasis is placed on the management of sports clubs and organizations in the Czech Republic, its historical development and the main aspects of the profession of sports manager at present.

1. Position of sport on the society, its educational, health, social and economic aspects
2. Defining basic terms, introduction to sports management, development of sports management in Europe and in the world
3. Management of physical education and sports in the Czech Republic, the main problems of present-day sports management, the opportunities for education and training
4. The nature of managerial work, inborn and acquired qualities of a sports manager
5. Managerial functions and roles, the main concepts of managerial work, 7S, 4E, all about application in sports environment
6. Sports manager's planning, types of plans and goals, examples of planning in sports, social and economic areas
7. Organizing in sport, profit and non-profit organizations, types of sports organizations in the Czech republic – different aspects of classification
8. Supervising as one of sports manager's functions, types of checking, monitoring plans, checking the human factor
9. Leading people, management styles, human resources, motivation and communication in sport manager's activity, the main problems in managing human resources in sports environment
10. Ethical aspects of sport manager's work, the main negative phenomena in present-day sports environment, how to face them in the capacity of a sports manager
11. The main factors determining present-day social and economic importance of sport for the Czech Republic, debate, discussion, the list of the main factors
