Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

1. To transform the basic problems of general management into the management of physical education and sports. 2. To define the managerial functions in the sphere of sport's management. 3. To explain the students how to cope with managerial work in the sporting environment, its main problems in the Czech Republic and worldwide. 4. To explain the principles of human resources management and leadership in sports. 5. To explain the principles of the professional preparation of a sport’s manager.

Summary

The aim of the subject is to transform the basic chapters of general management into the management of physical education and sport. Rely on general management assumptions and look for specificity, peculiarities and problems of management's current sports environment. Emphasis is placed on the management of sports clubs and organizations in the Czech Republic, its historical development and the main aspects of the profession of sports manager at present.

Subject syllabus:

-The position of sport in society, its educational, health, social and economic aspects -Definition of basic concepts, introduction to sport management -Development of sport management in Europe and the world -Management of physical education and sport in the Czech Republic and abroad, the main problems of contemporary sport management, training opportunities and further training -Nnature of managerial work, congenital and acquired characteristics sport manager -Management functions and roles, fundamental concepts of managerial work, 7S, 4E, everything in the sports environment -Planning in Manager´s work sports, types of plans and objectives, examples of planning in the sport, social and economic areas -Organizaing in sport, profit and non-profit organizations, types of sports organizations in the Czech Republic,division from different perspectives -Contriol as one of the functions of a sports manager, types of controls, control plans, the human factor control -Leadership, leadership styles, human resources, motivation and communication in sports manager work, the main problems of human resource management in the sports environment, ethical aspects of sport, negative phenomena -The main factors affecting the current social and economic importance of sport in the Czech Republic -The biggest problems with the current sports environment and sport management in the Czech Republic -Options obtaining additional financial resources, the importance of personality, manager in dealing with sponsors, during their search, subsidies from public budgets, grants, funds from the EU, etc. -Discussion to each topics and to the current state and the current status of sport in the Czech Republic
