Summary

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic concepts and principles of strategic management. Students are led to adopt and use the principles of strategic thinking, apply methods of strategic analysis and evaluate the state and trends of development of the external and internal environment of the organization. Crisis management is then presented as a summary of management activities focusing on a wide range of issues, starting with risk assessment, through planning, organizing to implementation and control of activities undertaken in connection with the prevention and resolution of the crisis. The student will get the basics to evaluate the crisis vulnerability of the company, to create an early warning system, to create a simple crisis plan, to propose the composition of the crisis team and the ways of its training, to apply the key points of the company's recovery strategy. After completing the course students should be able to think about the individual parts of the strategy implementation, assess its risks and set up a strategic control system.
