1. Formulate the function, objectives and content of business logistics 2. Categorize and describe the processes in business logistics 3. Explain and compare various approaches implemented in business economics 4. Map and asses the concepts of business logistics in concrete supply chains 5. Summary

Cílem předmětu je seznámit posluchače se zvláštnostmi procesů v obchodní logistice, se způsoby organizování a řízení těchto procesů a jejich vlivem na ekonomiku příslušných organizací. Po absolvování předmětu by studenti měli být schopni aplikovat své poznatky na základní praktické problémy v oblastech obchodní logistiky.

Subject syllabus:

1.Business logistics definition in the frame of supply chain management. 2.Principles of flow management in business logistics. Evaluation of various positions of decoupling point in the supply chain. Principles of theory of constraints and their application in business logistics. 3.Logistics service level and logistics costs. Relations between customer demand character and inventory control. 4.Kinds of distribution channels and structure of warehousing network in distribution. Kinds of warehouses. Processes in warehousing. Trends in warehousing. 5.Warehouse management. Comparison of various racking and picking organization. Measures and analyses in warehouse management. Computer warehouse management systems. 6.Transportation and other services in business logistics (including international logistics), price and delivery terms in transport. 7.Active and passive components of logistics systems and actual trends. 8.Reverse logistics. Reverse logistics and product life cycle. 9.Global logistics. E-logistics. Trends in logistics systems management.
