Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
1. To develop the student's ability to work independently with scientific literature.
2. To develop the efficient data collection ability and to choose relevant data collection methods.
3. To develop the ability of data analysing.
4. To propose the utilization of the outputs from analysis.
5. To formulate objectives of the thesis and to suggest suitable methodology.

Summary
The aim of the course is professional and methodical preparation for the choice of topic and for future successful elaboration of the thesis in accordance with the topics listed. Students try to find a topic for their diploma thesis under the guidance of the teacher. Due to the different focus of the thesis topics and the specificity of the conditions of each solution, the seminar takes the form of individual consultations according to the student's needs. Students learn to define the subject of research, they orientate themselves in information sources, carry out literature search, formulate the aim of the thesis and expected results of the thesis. One of the outputs of the Special seminar is a preliminary proposal of the topic of the diploma thesis and an outline of its methodology.

Written elaboration of the proposed topic, aims and methodology of the thesis, including a list of references.

2. Due to the individual focus of the topics of diploma theses and the specificity of the conditions of each solution, consultations are conducted individually according to the needs of the student and the stage of work on the solved diploma project.
