Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The course will equip students with the necessary knowledge of theoretical
geography, political geography, population geography, economic geography and
regional geography including the current picture of particular states of the
world, and, also, with the remarkable integration efforts. The aim of this
subject is to exceed the range of the knowledges about social and economic
weight of macroregions of the world and the most development countries.
Teaching methods
Summary
Vyučování předmětu socioekonomické geografie by mělo pomoci ekonomům si osvojit základy geografického myšlení tj. naučit se pracovat s ekonomickými jevy v prostorových (regionálních) souvislostech. Měli by získat schopnost odlišovat jednotlivé části zemského povrchu (kontinenty, integrační seskupení, regiony, státní útvary apod.) na základě předpokladů pro hospodářskou činnost. V neposlední řadě poskytuje studium socioekonomické geografie užitečné informace o ekonomických a geografických charakteristikách především hospodářsky vyspělých států světa.
Studium socioekonomické geografie patří mezi všeobecně vzdělávací předměty. Její výuka by se měla stát jedním ze základních zdrojů, které pomáhají vytvářet dnes požadovanou všestranně vzdělanou osobnost ekonoma.
