Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

After completing the course students should be able to classify natural resources, to identify their basic characteristics and indicators used in this area, to understand the aspects associated with the scarcity of natural resources in relation to sustainable development; to be familiar with the strategies and approaches to managing these resources at the international level, within the EU and its Member States; to identify challenges and potential opportunities for more efficient use of natural resources in relation to sustainable development.

Summary

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the development and current goals and the formation of the European Community in the field of natural resources. The priorities of the current policy is the requirement of sustainable development, which applies also to the management of natural resources. The course therefore deals essence of natural resources, their basic functions, the factors that influence the development and use of their drawing and objectives that are set out in each policy area, management of natural resources in the EU and international level. In addition, a brief overview of developments and trends in the formation of EU policies in these areas. Conclusion The prognosis is dedicated to the exploitation of natural resources and resource evaluation and environmental demands of the EU. The basis of teaching are lectures, with the support of the management of the education system MOODLE, which provides access to both the basic learning materials, and additional resources.

Osnova předmětu: 1. Úvod do problematiky přírodních zdrojů - vymezení základních pojmů, základní funkce a klasifikace přírodních zdrojů a současná situace v jejich využívání 2. Vybrané aspekty současné environmentální politiky EU a její legislativní základy 3. Tématická strategie EU k udržitelnému využívání přírodních zdrojů 4. Hospodaření s lesními porosty v EU - podstata a význam lesních porostů a politika EU zaměřená na jejich ochranu a využívání 5. Vodní politika EU - stávající situace ve využívání vodních zdrojů v rámci EU a v globálním měřítku a vývoj politiky EU k jejich ochraně a využívání 6. Ochrana biodiverzity EU - podstata a význam biologické diverzity a politika na její ochranu na mezinárodní úrovni a v rámci EU 7. Politika EU na ochranu půdy - základní funkce půdy, faktory které ji ohrožují a politika EU v této oblasti 8. Politika EU v oblasti rybolovu - počátky a vývoj společné politiky rybolovu EU a hlavní oblasti jejího prohlubování 9. Energetická politika EU I. - počátky vzniku a vývoj energetické politiky EU v období do roku 2005 10.
