Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Explain complexity of regional development, simplified reduction appropriate premise and simplification in diverse growth model and development
Assess of impact developed of regional disparities of choice factors with spatial process in region and between them.
Categorise short-term response of changes and adjustment process in long period development region.
Interpret domesticate examples and experience of aspects of the Czech and world's life and institutions on central, regional and local levels.

Summary
Poznat teoretické i praktické aspekty rozvoje regionu v průběhu času. Faktory
lokalizačního chování subjektů a vlivů lokalit na prostorové struktury (z
předmětu Regionální ekonomika) se studují ve vzájemných souvislostech. Na
determinanty rozvoje navazuje poptávkově orientované modely, neoklasické
vyrovnávání růstu, teorie polarizace a nové teorie růstu. Nakonec se studují
inovační koncepce, sítě a dopady flexibility na regionální rozvoj.

Subject syllabus:
1. Introduction. Difference and similarity of regional structures. Changes in spatial
structures and their functions over time. Old industrial regions and developing
regions.
2. Region and regionaloizace. Supra-, sub-and trans-nationalist regions. Common
characteristics and criteria of homogeneity and functional regions.
3. Regional development and its determinants. Development and economic growth. Magic Pentagon development. Regional development process, its basic economic
context and production functions.
4. Demand-oriented concept of regional development. Export base theory.
Export multiplier effects and regional income.
5. Regional input-output analysis. Description of the structure and relationships of demand and offers in the IO-table. Primary, secondary and total economic effects
one region.
6. Application of IO-model for two types of regions. The structure of multi-and
inter-regional IO model. IO-stabilizing mechanisms of the model.
7. Neoclassical approach to regional development. The role of capital accumulation
one closed region. Balancing the region's growth through re-
factors and inter-regional trade.
8. The concept of divergent developments in the region. Basic features of the theory of polarization. The concept of growth poles. Center-periphery model.
9. "New Growth Theory" and regional development. Growth of the technical aspects
progress. Basic characteristics and regional consequences of the most important concepts of "new growth theory ".
10. Innovative concept of growth. Innovation, innovation processes and network relationships. Factors of regional differences in innovation: the nature of regional environment corporate structures, functions and business strategies.
11. Regional economic development in a global context. Regional specific regulatory theory (modes of accumulation and social regulation). Regional development of symptoms competitive economy. Flexible specializing in "Industrial Districts ". Empirical observation of innovation.
