Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The course will equip students with the necessary knowledge of theoretical geography political geography, population geography, economic geography and regional geography including the current picture of particular states of the world, and, also, with the remarkable integration efforts. The aim of this subject is to exceed the range of the knowledges about social and economic weight of macroregions of the world and the most development countries. The next target is obtaining conception of general development of the world states, diversity central-periphery model of the world and possibilities to make a survey of living standard in a global scale.

Subject syllabus:

1. Evolution of the Human Geography Basic notes and natures of human geography, particular branch of human geography, historical development of geography and human geography, personality of the human geography. 2. Introduction to the Methodology in Human Geography Techniques and methods. 3. Political Geography and Regional Approach Changes on the political and economic world map. State and his basic signs and typology. 4. Introduction to Population Geography Development of the world population, urban system and settlement. 5. Economic Development and Space Economy Agriculture, industry and services. 6. The Czech Republic and geographic background Location, social and economic characteristics of the state. 7. Core-periphery System of the World Space patterns, regional disparities. 8. Quality of Life and Cooperation among States United Nations and other international integrations, global, regional and local political organization.
