Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student will be able to: • Describe regulative of insurance, enumerate doctrines of single insurance market. • Identify legal insurance relation participants and infer rights and obligations. Differentiate individual categories of insurance intermediaries. • Apply rule of law to resolution of concrete example. • Analyze insurance contract, insurance terms and conditions. • Propose to claim resolution. • Evaluate advantages and disadvantages of single insurance market for Czech insurance market.

Summary

The aim of this subject is to acquire the students with legal regulation of private insurance, insurance as a obligatory legal relation and legal regulation of insurance business. Also the explanation of the basic regulation of EU Council of insurance is included as well as the principle of unified European passport. Student gains the knowledge out of those explanations and application of legal norms and in this way practical use of acquired knowledge will be supported.

Business risk, traditional risk methods, alternative risk methods, captive insurance. 3. Legal relations of insurance law. Insurance contract legislation, conclusion, contract interruption, contract termination. insurance conditions. 4. Damage and loss insurance. 5. Legal and contractual insurance. Insurance in business practice. Insurance market trends for entrepreneurs and industry. 6. Property insurance - legal aspects. Liability insurance. 7. Liability. Liability insurance. 8. D&O Insurance. 9. Damage and insured event. Claims settlement. 10. Claims settlement. Specific cases (responsibility, cybernetics, etc.). 11. Insurance fraud and possible solutions, international insurance fraud. 12. Legal regulation of insurance intermediaries. Single passport for insurance intermediaries. Significance for the client. 13. Single insurance market. Member State supervisory cooperation. Insurance market in the Czech Republic and the EU. 14. International Insurance Law.
