Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The student will acquire: - orientation in the field of commercial and financial legislation. Mainly, he would be able to understand, perceive consequent duties and deduce practical recommendations in obligatory law, law of commercial corporations, financial, customs and foreign exchange law; - knowledge about the sources of given law fields and their system. Student will be able to realize and use information in practice, which acts deal with important issues; - knowledge about the basic problem areas, institutes and terms. Student will be able to understand legal text and acts, to create simple legal activity using appropriate terminology; - ability to find and apply legal norms by given factual basis. He will be able to connect economical and legal aspects together at least when it comes to basic cases; - ability to identify problem and find legal solution to it including threats and opportunities determination and use such legal tools to react to those in the best way.

Summary

The aim of the course is to explain the commercial and financial law in relation to the practical use of acquired theoretical knowledge. It focuses on institutes that are related to the entrepreneur and his entrepreneurial activities, the context of corporate law, as well as to the public-law framework of business, especially trade and registration law, competition law, tax and financial law. Students will be able to use acquired knowledge and understanding to clarify and solve model situations, to be able to evaluate the factual and legal state of a given problem (example example) and to apply relevant provisions of the law.

Subject syllabus:

1. Terms of civil and corporate law, including small businesses. 2. Entrepreneurship of foreign entities in the Czech Republic. 3. International trade law and foreign trade law. 4. Law of Obligations. 5. System of financial law of the Czech Republic and relation to other legal areas. 6. Practical application of financial law. 7. Customs law and application of customs legislation. Fundamentals of Foreign Exchange Law. 8. System of tax regulations and tax proceedings. Double tax treaties.
