Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

1. To describe and explain non-economic integration activities of the EC/EU, 2. To identify the main milestones of integration process deepening, 3. To discuss economic and non-economic integration effects in the EC/EU, 4. To recognise bottlenecks and discordant issues of the EU integration process, 5. To evaluate regulation requirements on the supranational level.

Summary

The course deals with the European integration process. The focus is given to the deepening of the European integration and enlargement of the European Union. Both processes are supplemented with the Czech Republic issues.

Subject syllabus:

1.Ekonomická výkonnost EU. Konflikt cílů evropského integračního procesu. 2.Evropská unie a její rozšiřování na východ a jihovýchod Evropy. 3.Sousedská politika Evropské unie. 4.Rozvojová politika Evropské unie. 5.Sociální politika Evropské unie. Její vývoj a aktuální úkoly se zaměřením na oblast boje proti nezaměstnanosti. Evropská sociální agenda. 6.Koheze a konvergence celkového makroekonomického prostředí. Rizika spojená se zaváděním společné měny. Balassa – Samuelsonův efekt. 7.Zahraniční a bezpečnostní spolupráce zemí ES. Západoevropská unie. 8.Druhý pilíř Evropské unie - realizace a fungování společné zahraniční a bezpečnostní politiky. 9.Třetí pilíř Evropské unie - spolupráce v oblasti vnitra, justice a policie. Schengenský systém. Právní akty třetího pilíře EU a role institucí. 10.Současné reformy Evropské unie a modely budoucího vývoje evropské integrace. 11.Role předsednictví v Radě EU.
