Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with prerequisites for formation of economic integration co-operation in individual regions of the world economy. These are evaluated in a broader context and taking into account the historical formation of the regions themselves. In each region, attention is focused on existing regional integration clusters, the motives for their creation, and the main benefits for stakeholders. In the context of regional integration projects, intercontinental economic integration projects are also presented. After completing the subject, students should be able to consider integration both in Europe and globally.

Summary
The course deals with integration processes in the world economy. The regional
economic integration is being concerned in the main world regions - Europe,
America, Africa and Asia. Relations with the European Union are tackled.
Having the knowledge of the course the student should understand the European
integration in the world context.
1. World economy and economic integration - origin, formation, subjects and relations between them, trends in the development of the world economy.
2. Theory of International Economic Integration - integration, economic integration, basic integration methods, motives, degrees, global and regional economic integration.
3. Prerequisites for regional integration co-operation in Europe - historical, political, economic, social and cultural assumptions from the end of the First World War to the present. The current position of the region in the world economy.
4. Regional integration cooperation in Western Europe - European Union, European Free Trade Association, European Economic Area - creation, formation, current depth and breadth of cooperation, perspectives for further development.
5. Regional Integration Cooperation in Central Europe - Central European Free Trade Area - formation, formation, current depth and breadth of cooperation, perspectives for further development.
6. Regional Integration Cooperation in Eastern Europe - Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian Economic Union - emergence, formation, current depth and breadth of cooperation, perspectives for further development.
7. Prerequisites for Regional Integration Cooperation in America - Historical, political, economic, social and cultural assumptions from the second half of the 20th century to the present. The current position of the region in the world economy.
8. Regional Integration Collaboration in North America - North American Free Trade Agreement - Establishment, Formation, Current Depth and Width of Co-operation, Future Development Perspectives.
9. Regional integration cooperation in South America - South American Common Market, Andean Community, Union of South American Nations - formation, formation, current depth and breadth of cooperation, perspectives for further development.
10. Prerequisites for regional integration cooperation in Asia - historical, geographical, political, economic, social and cultural from the second half of the 20th century to the present. The current position of the region in the world economy.
11. Regional integration cooperation in Asia - Gulf Cooperation Council, Association of South-East Asian Nations, South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation - creation, formation, specifics, prospects for further development.
12. Prerequisites for regional integration cooperation in Africa - historical, political, economic, social and cultural assumptions from the second half of the 20th century to the present. The current position of the region in the world economy.
