Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
1. differentiate specifics of EC law from other legal systems
2. explain functioning of EU institutions and their importance for legislation
3. identify Treaty provisions applicable to specific situations
4. evaluate the importance of the Court of Justice for the explanation of EC law
5. outline particular sources of EU law
Teaching methods
Summary
The aim of the subject is to equip students with an understanding of EU law,
ie. a specific legal order effective in all EU member states. The lectures
will focus on EU institutions, principles of functioning of the Communities
and sources and character of EU law. Material law from the field of the
internal market will be briefly introduced.
