1.To classify the stages of the international economic integration. 2.To identify the crucial integration tendencies in Europe. 3.To describe the development and the present situation of European integration processes (EU). 4.To apply the knowledge for the interpretation of the present situation in the EU.

Summary

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic developmental tendencies of the European integration processes, especially with the concepts, forms and objectives of integration in the European Union and the current issues related to the membership of the Czech Republic. At the same time, the course should create an initial information base for studying the economic, social and political aspects of integration processes in the European megaregion and prepare students for the study of specialized subjects focusing on more detailed aspects of European integration.

Subject syllabus:

1.Pojetí mezinárodní ekonomické integrace. Integrační metody a formy realizace mezinárodní ekonomické integrace. 2.Vymezení stupňů ekonomické integrace. Současný stav integrovanosti evropského kontinentu. 3.Modely (paradigmata) evropského integračního procesu, etapy vývoje integračního procesu v západní Evropě po roce 1945. 4.Geneze Evropské unie, integrační koncepce. Právní základy EU - charakteristika komunitárního práva. 5.Struktura a funkce orgánů a institucí Evropské unie. 6.Financování integračních aktivit Evropské unie - společný rozpočet. Projekt a realizace jednotného vnitřního trhu (JVT) EU. 7.Volný pohyb zboží, služeb, kapitálu a osob na JVT Unie. Základní principy ochrany hospodářské soutěže na vnitřním trhu. 8.Integrovaný agrární trh, charakteristika společných, sektorových a koordinovaných hospodářských politik v Unii. 9.Základní principy hospodářské a sociální soudržnosti v EU - regionální politika, průmyslová politika, sociální politika, ochrana životního prostředí. 10.Koncepce přechodu EU k hospodářské a měnové unii, úloha konvergenčních kritérií. Organizační a kapitálové zajištění hospodářské a měnové unie, monetární politika Evropské centrální banky. 11.Spolupráce v zahraniční a bezpečnostní politice Unie. Spolupráce v oblasti justice a vnitřních věcí. 12.Politické, ekonomické a institucionální problémy spojené s rozšiřováním EU o země střední, severovýchodní a jižní Evropy. 13.Česko v procesu přibližování k Evropské unii. Negociační proces, přistoupení Česka k EU, pozitiva a negativa našeho členství v Unii. 14.Možnosti budoucího vývoje integrace v EU. Problémy přechodu EU k politické integraci.
