Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

1.To explain the process of globalization in its wide implications in the world economy and other part of the world society. To interpret status of main participants of the globalization. 3.To identify selected global issues. 4.To analyse the causes and results of global issues. 5.To explain the status of international organizations in the process of globalization and in solving of global issues. 6. To apply the knowledge on actual events in the world and new developing trends in the world.

Summary

Subject is concentrated on the process of globalization, in its wide implications; the description of the main participants of the process of globalization; status and function of the most important international organizations; selected global issues, their causes and elimination of the results, possible solving of them and status of international organizations in this solving. The access is interdisciplinary with the aim to cover up whole social implications of the process of globalization and global issues.

Zpracování seminární práce – Tematický okruh 1 (rozsah: min 10 stran) • Projevy globalizace, účastníci globálních vztahů • Globalizace světové ekonomiky, Globalizace z perspektivy jednotlivých částí světa • Globální problémy – globální nerovnost, chudoba a zaostalost a lidský rozvoj • Globální problémy – globální zátěž životního prostředí, globální bezpečnost 2. Zpracování týmové práce – Tematický okruh 2 (rozsah: min 10 stran) Studenti si zvolí mezinárodní organizaci a globální problém a popíší a zhodnotí postavení vybrané (vládní i nevládní) organizace při řešení daného problému. 3. United Nations and its role in global security 6. International Monetary Fund and World Bank and their role in the world economy 7. Population growth as global problem 8. Developing economies and their backwardness and indebtedness 9. Poverty and human development 10. Environmental issues 11. Sustainable development
