Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
1.To describe integration process in Europe and its influence on goals of economic policy in the EC/EU,
2.To identify the main economic-political goals and explain related tools in different integration stages,
3.To apply knowledge for solution of topical economic-poltical issues of the EC/EU,
4.To analyse economic-political situation in the EC/EU member countries and discuss ways and means for its solutions.

Summary
Subject should complete the basic knowledge of the student in the field of
European integration. The main focus will be laid as on the different forms of
integration processes in Europe including its historical background as on the
common and coordinated policies of the European Union. The actual topics of
the EU activities will be emphasized too.

1.The global world economy and integration. The origins and development of the
European integration towards the European Union. The aims of the EU economic
policy.
2.Regulation (policies) and governance of integration processes – institution,
law and finance conditions.
3.From the customs union to the single European market. The effects of
establishing free movement. Competition policy.
4.Economic and monetary union. EMU and economic policy coordination.
Macroeconomic policy coordination.
5.Common external trade policy. Trade aggreements. Method of protection
against unfair trade.
6.Common agricultural policy. The reasons for its development, the regulation
and operation of common agricultural policy. Common fisheries policy.
7.Common transport policy. Transeuropean nets.
8.Structural policy roles and directions – industrial sectoral policies. The
development and aims.
9.Regional policy. From regional heterogeneity towards economic cohesion.
10.Research and development policy. European Research Area.
11.Environment policy and energy policy.
12.Social policy. Social cohesion. Employment.
