Posluchači bakalářského studia by se měli v tomto dvousemestrovém předmětu postupně zorientovat v současné struktuře médií a osvojit si základní znalosti o odlišnostech novinářské práce v tisku, rozhlase, televizi, tiskových agenturách a internetových médiích. Současně by se měli seznámit se základními žurnalistickými tématy a rubrikami, které tato média nabízejí. Předmět je tak nejen úvodem do studia žurnalistiky, ale dává do společenských i dobových souvislostí masová média, přiblíží i díky hostům ve výuce jednotlivé typy médií a základy žurnalistické práce.

Subject syllabus:

1. Structure of media, the current state and dynamic trends of development 2. Media in the Czech society - the role of journalism, the position of media in the current society 3. The basic division of media according to the mode of information transmission, according to the branch focuses 4. Media focused on economic information 5. Specificities of journalist's work in the media (sources and obtaining of information and their processing) 6. Identical and different elements of work in particular kinds of media 7. New media and digital technologies, mainly the Internet 8. Agency journalism 9. Analysis of our media current production 10. Ethics of decision-making in journalistic practice 11. Practical introduction to the various types of media working - continuously
