- to classify the structure of the Czech legislation,
- to judge the legal standards,
- to summarize knowledge in the field of civil law aimed at journalistic activity (protection of personality, copyright),
- to write simple legal acts and legal actions,
- to mention strengths and weaknesses for particular ways of dealing with litigations

Summary
Studentům bude podrobně analyzován systém soukromého práva, a to s akcentem jednotlivých právních disciplín, jež bezprostředně souvisejí s výkonem žurnalistické činnosti. Předmětem dalšího výkladu budou podrobnosti jednotlivých soukromoprávních disciplín a výňatek konkrétní problematiky v těchto disciplínách obsažených, jež mají úzkou souvislost s výkonem žurnalistiky, a to především s ohledem na možné praktické použití. Zejména se bude jednat o soukromoprávní aspekty práv duševního vlastnictví, ochranu osobnosti, hospodářskou soutěž a některé závazkové právní vztahy. Součástí je průprava právní dokumentací, jež se v praxi nejčastěji užívá (dvoustranné a jednostranné právní úkony) a dále též průprava k civilnímu procesu, strategii vedení civilního sporu a průprava základními procesními dokumenty (žaloby, odpory, odvolání, atd.), to vše v přímé souvislosti s problematikou, s níž žurnalisté přicházejí do styku.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester
Studenti jsou povinni mimo řádné docházky na přednášky a cvičení rovněž vytvořit v průběhu semestru seminární práci na téma zadané lektorem. Dalším požadavkem na studenta pro získání zápočtu, jenž je nezbytným předpokladem pro vykonání zkoušky, je úspěšné absolvování zápočtového testu, který se bude skládat ze dvou částí: a) praktické (zahrnuje příklady z právní praxe), b) teoretické (formou testu).
