Summary

In economic analyses, we often encounter the need to evaluate and compare economic phenomena using appropriate indicators. These tools are provided by the area of statistics, called economic and social statistics. The course "Economic Information Analysis" introduces students to basic methods of economic information analysis using two economic statistics tools: indexes and time series. Students will also get acquainted with the current Czech system of economic and social statistics indicators and its links to the harmonized system within the EU. Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS Statistics software tools are used in this course. Individual topics are trained on particular practical examples and tasks.

A maximum of 20 points can be obtained, no minimum is specified. b) Comprehensive test The test validates the knowledge and ability to apply the learned methods. The comprehensive test is mandatory and there is a maximum of 25 points, no minimum is specified. The test can be repeated, a better result is count. c) Team project Students must form groups of 2-3 members which will elaborate the essay using real economic indicators, which must be found in the available resources. A maximum of 40 points can be obtained, while the mandatory minimum is 25 points. A necessary condition for obtaining the credit is getting 45 points from all tasks together.
