Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The course continues to enrich student’s essential knowledge from the business economics, management, finance, accounting and other interrelated areas. The aim of the course is to provide students a complex overview of planning process of enterprise development as a whole, investment decision making with utilization of knowledge management that in practice leads to increase of business performance. The main part of the course will be focused on understanding of interrelated and complex business plans and their implementation in business performance context.

Other requirements

Student is due to elaborate a semester project with a minimum of 15 pages according to tutor's instructions. In the end of the semester the student has to pass a written ungraded assessment and after that the course examination. The ungraded assessment is awarded by 23 to 45 points and the course examination is awarded by 28 to 55 points. The semester project is a part of the ungraded assessment.

Subject syllabus:

Lecture’s content framework: • Introduction to business planning • Creation of business objectives • Decision-making processes in planning • Specifications for particular types of business plans o The production plan o Work plan o Plan for the recovery, reconstruction and modernization of property o Supply plan o Marketing plan o Financial Plan • Control of plans, evaluation of the implementation plans and risk planning • The concept, types, financing and capital investment planning • The nature and process of evaluation of the effectiveness of capital investments • The investment program of the company • Comparison of investment alternatives • Investment risk and its analysis • Measurement of results of strategic investments
