Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The subject informs on the development of consumer protection, its legislative framework in European Union countries and in the Czech Republic.
Explain the basic rights of consumers and the procedure of their exercising, and consumers’ participation in the creation of new products.
Apart from other things, assess the actual practical examples and model situations will be analysed that will enable students to obtain a deeper insight into ordinary problems in the field of consumer protection and safe products.

Summary
Instruction in the subject analyses the position and specification of consumers in the CR and the EU and includes special terminology, analysis of legislature, statutes and regulations connnected with consumers protection and makes clear consumers status in standardization and their participation in the standard process.

Subject syllabus:
The subject Consumer Protection analyzes the position and specifics of consumers in the Czech Republic and the EU and provides students with basic theoretical knowledge of consumer issues. It includes professional terminology, analysis of basic laws, regulations and regulations related to consumer protection and clarifies the role of consumers in standardization and its participation in the standardization process.
