Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject is focused on the basics of professional consulting for entrepreneurs and managers in economics and business management, focusing on content and management consulting services. It provides basic information on the profession of internal or external consultant in economics and corporate governance. Upon successful and active completion of the course, students will be able to: KNOWLEDGE: Describe the goal and content of the subject. SKILLS: Students will be able to quickly orient themselves in the content of the subject and in the literature related to the subject. COURSES: Students will gain a basic overview of topics that are covered by the subject Counseling for Managers and Businessmen.

Předmět je zaměřen na seznámení se základy profesionálního poradenství pro podnikatele a manažery v ekonomice a řízení podniku, přičemž se soustřeďuje na obsah i management poradenské služby. Podává základní informace k profesi interního nebo externího poradce v ekonomice a řízení podniků.

Subject syllabus:

Course syllabus: 1. Conception of counseling for entrepreneurs and managers as a profession - definition of consulting, counseling and counseling service, history of counseling, development of counseling, specifics of service, ethics and culture in counseling, reasons for using and not using counseling services. 2. Typology of counseling - commercial and non-commercial form of counseling services, types of counseling services in management and business, typology of forms of business support, basic types of personnel counseling. 3. Business consulting - definition of the terms culture and ethics, code of ethics, ethics in selected activities of the consulting firm. 4. Techniques of counseling work and process of change - basic techniques of counseling work, definition of counseling approaches, role of counselor in counseling process, criteria of counseling verification, nature of change, dilemmas of change, nature of change, concept of change in people. 5. Communication of the counselor with the client - model of communication, verbal and nonverbal communication, manifestations of nonverbal communication, mistakes in communication, types of behavior, personality traits, acting abroad. 6. Organization of counseling work - organization of consulting firm office, composition of counseling team, first contact with client, time in counseling and temporalization of negotiations. 7. Consultancy process and its application, counseling skills and offer of services - phases of counseling process, identification of client problem, project approach to order planning, definition of counseling skills, structure of counseling services offer. 8. Specifics in selected business segments and business management - role of advisor and definition of basic methods in selected business segments and business management. 9. Counseling as a business and process activity - managerial activity in a consulting firm, operational work plan and budget, income and expenditure structure, project management, costs and fees, consulting firm strategy. 10. Advisory projects and fee determination - pricing strategy, types of fees and their calculation, forms of consulting contract, methods of invoicing. 11. Professional growth of advisor - development of professional career of advisor, legal and qualification requirements for performance of financial and tax advisor, international certificate of advisor EFA, Chamber of European Advisors, CMC (Certified Management Consultant), ICMCI (International Council of Management Consulting Institutes) 12. Contemporary knowledge of counseling practice - virtual integration, business networks and clusters, human capital, investment in man, relativity in business, asymmetry of information, asymmetry of power, private and public interest, senior and cooperative counseling. 13. Support and counseling for the corporate sector - concept of support for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Czech Republic for the current period, forms of support, governmental and non-governmental institutions providing support to entrepreneurs, EU funds and possibilities of drawing support for the business sphere.
