Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students will acquire basic knowledge of the company and its functions, fundamentals of managerial skills in strategic and financial management, but also in the field of production management, suppliers and personnel management. In addition, they will acquire skills and competences for fundamental business activities.

Summary

It`s cross-sectional subject which provides basic theoretical knowledge about business economics. Students obtain knowledge about foundation, development, operation and termination of a business. Students acquaint with individual business activities as well. The economic aspect of the issues is emphasized and the accent is put on acquirement of the specialized terminology. Students further extend their knowledge in special subjects in the following courses.

Subject syllabus:

It is a cross-curricular course that provides students with basic theoretical knowledge of business economics. Students will learn about the establishment, creation, functioning and cancelling of a company, get acquainted with business value-creation processes and with measuring the efficiency and performance of business activities. Main topics (syllabus) of lectures: 1. Introduction to business economics. 2. Typology of companies and companies. 3. Business surroundings and business environment. 4. Business life cycle and its phase. 5. Capital and property structure of the company. 6. Economic efficiency of the company and its basic category. 7. Organization and organizational structure of the company. 8. Strategic business management. 9. Financial management. 10. Production activity of the company. 11. Purchasing Management. 12. Sales and marketing. 13. Personnel management. 14. Modern trends in corporate governance and entry of companies into foreign markets.
