Předmět navazuje na získané vědomosti v bakalářském studiu oboru veřejná ekonomika a správa a rozšiřuje je z pohledu národohospodářského a odvětvového. Ekonomika veřejné správy je však chápána nejen odvětvově, ale i z širšího pohledu včetně aplikace a základních trendů EU.Pozornost je věnována ekonomice vitřní i vnější správy a hodnocení a kvalitě ve veřejné správě.
