Students will acquire specific knowledge and skills: - in the field of research methodology and literature description, - Verification and processing of data from open databases - work with resources and proper citation, - formal text editing.

Summary

The course is focused on gaining basic knowledge in the field of methodology used in working with professional literature, creating professional texts and data analysis. Attention is paid to both public databases and portals with online access, as well as professional resources in analog form. Emphasis is placed on a critical view of the information relevance of available sources and citation standards and principles.

Subject syllabus:

Subject Seminar is intended only for students of combined study. The aim of the course is to acquire professional skills in obtaining and processing data from online sources from the category of open data, including special information portals of public administration, correct and correct citation of the texts, referring to the resources used and formal processing of professional texts. The basic synopsis of the seminar: 1. Information systems of public administration. Public Information Portals - MONITOR of the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic, Register of Schools and School Facilities, eJustice, UZIS Portal, CZSO Public Database, etc. Data form, data structure, aggregated data. 2. Principles of formal adaptation and structure of professional text. Examples of the structure structure of the seminar paper. 3. Examples of horizontal and vertical data analysis. 4. Citation technique according to ČSN ISO 690: 2011. General principles of quotation, citation errors, list of used literature.
