Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to introduse the students in selected areas of financial decision-making. Students will be able: - to introduce the importance of time value of money into decision-making, - to apply investment criterions, - to analyze and select optimal sources for company financing, - to propose financial plan of a firm - tu value a company

Summary

This course develops selected financial issues taught within the course Corporate finance including some new issues necessary for the ability to make the correct financial decision-making. Attention is paid particularly to the financial analysis, financial planning and valuation.

Subject syllabus:

1. Approaches and methods of company´s financial performance assessment 2. Pyramidal decomposition and influence quantification. 3. Prediction models for company´s financial health assessment 4. Company´s sources of capital, rules of assets financing, classification. 5. Assessment and selection optimal mix of capital of financing. 6. Operating cycle and its analysis. 7. Working capital management. 8. Capital budgeting – objective, principles, stages, investments classification. Prediction of cash flows of projects. 9. Capital budgeting rules. 10. Analysis of risky factors, Evaluation of mutually exclusive investments. 11. Dividends, dividend policy, dividend theories. 12. Financial planning – principles, short-term and long-term financial plan proposal.
