Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The overall aim of the course is to make students acquainted with the role of financial markets and its segments, such as money and capital markets. Students will get basic knowledge about functioning of the banking system - not only in the Czech Republic, but globally as well, and different banking tools, their pros and cons not only from the point of view of a customer, but also a bank. Within the frame of Capital Markets students will get a knowledge about several types of securities, debt and equity markets. Students would be able to use learned material in practical situations, e.g. in mutual comparison of subjects operating in the financial markets.

Lectures

Summary

Subject is focused on functioning of financial markets with sress on money markets and capital markets. The second part explaines the functioning of banking system and characterises the different types of securities and operations in the capital market.
