Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The course aims at providing knowledge of the principles of insurance models and their application within management of insurance companies and other entities. It is therefore focused on particular aspects of insurance risk estimation in all branches of insurance sector and their subsequent management.

Summary

The course is focused on particular aspects of insurance risk estimation in all branches of insurance sector and their subsequent management. It also covers calculation of technical provisions, related investment issues and pricing problems. An inherent part of the course is the analysis of institutional dimension.

1. Analysis of insurance sector, competition and concentration 2. Financial statements, reporting, efficiency and performance evaluation 3. Business strategy models, marketing and sale analysis and network structure 4. Mergers and valuation of insurance companies 5. SOLVENCY and other regulation approaches 6. Risk management in life insurance (premium, benefits, etc.) 7. Risk management in non-life insurance (premium, benefits, etc.) 8. Financial risk (investment, operational, …) management in insurance 9. Management of technical provisions 10. Social security and pension funds 11. Reinsurance and risk transferring models
