Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Understand the fundamental principles of the relational databases.
Use commands SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE of language SQL.
Create database applications in Microsoft Office Access.
Use the programming language Visual Basic for Application on a simple level.

Summary
The aim of the subject is to introduce the students to the foundations of the
design and creation relational databases and with foundations of SQL language as
a basic language for data manipulation. Students also teach to create graphical
user interface above database.
Everything will present on database system Microsoft Access current version.

Subject syllabus:
1) Návrh databázových aplikací, E-R model, normalizace databáze.
2) Tvorba a úpravy tabulek v návrhovém zobrazení MS Accessu.
3) SQL, část DDL - tvorba a úpravy tabulek pomocí jazyka SQL.
4) Možnosti tvorby dotazů v návrhovém zobrazení MS Accessu.
5) SQL, část DML, příkaz SELECT, jednoduché dotazy - klauzule SELECT, FROM,
WHERE, ORDER BY, GROUP BY, HAVING.
6) SQL, část DML, příkaz SELECT, pokročilé dotazy - spojení a sjednocení
tabulek, poddotazy.
7) Formuláře MS Accessu.
8) Sestavy MS Accessu.
9) Základy programovacího jazyka Visual Basic for Application I.
10) Základy programovacího jazyka Visual Basic for Application II.
11) Microsoft Access Objects - automatizace grafického uživatelského rozhraní.
12) SQL, část DML, příkazy INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE.
13) Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects - přístup k datům pomocí VBA.
14) Tvorba víceuživatelské aplikace, zabezpečení databázové aplikace.
