Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Understand the fundamental principles of the relational databases. Use commands SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE of language SQL. Create database applications in Microsoft Office Access. Use the programming language Visual Basic for Application on a simple level.

Summary

The aim of the subject is to introduce the students to the foundations of the design and creation relational databases and with foundations of SQL language as a basic language for data manipulation. Students also teach to create graphical user interface above database. Everything will present on database system Microsoft Access current version.

Subject syllabus:

1) Fundamental principles of the relational databases. 2) Creating and editing tables in Microsoft Office Access. 3) Data Definition Language of the SQL. 4) Creating queries in Microsoft Office Access. 5) Command SELECT of the SQL. 6) Forms in Microsoft Office Access. 7) Reportsin Microsoft Office Access. 8) Basics of the Visual Basic for Application. 9) Microsoft Access Objects. 10) Commands INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE of the SQL. 11) Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects. 12) Finishing of a database application.
