Summary

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the function and structure of computer software, architecture of operating systems and the grounding of communication with them. Furthermore, it provides the basic orientation in possibilities and requirements for standard applications programming packages.

1. Components of information systems – introduction 2. Second Functional characteristics of computer modules 3. System software 4. Operating systems - principle of work, used algorithms, client-server architecture, open systems 5. Types of Operating systems (Unix, Windows) 6. The use of external sources of information, principles of computer networks (Internet, Intranet, Extranet) 7. Types of Application Software Office, CAD, GIS, CASE, EIS, database systems, data warehouse 8. Basic PC components and their characteristics 9. The logical structure of a microprocessor, ratings and types of microprocessors 10. Communication microprocessor environment, characteristics and parameters for data bus 11. Physical and logical organization of memory your PC 12. Physical and logical structure of a hard disk, how to work with hard disk 13. Basic properties of compact disks and their standards 14. Characteristics and types of monitors 15. Characteristics and Modems
