Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The foreign trade course introduce individuals to the various aspects of international business and to the analyses of diferent global problems. Moreover, they also learn a lot about globalization and the changing scenario of the international market. The course enables the individuals to start their careers in export and import foreign trade and apply their knowledge in international business development. The individuals will be able to argue and relate disproportions among the countries.

This is the course of the advanced sequence in Economic Policy in Open Economy which describes the aims, tools, methods and principles of Economic Policy in Open Economy or benefit of free trade and protection.

Subject syllabus:

1. Úloha vnější hospodářské politiky (VHP) v otevřené ekonomice. - definice - nástroje a cíle VHP - zásady - metody a východiska vnější hospodářské politiky - postavení VHP v rámci ostatních hospodářských politik - otevřenost ekonomiky 2. Teorie zahraničního obchodu - liberální versus protekcionistická VHP - úloha mezinárodních institucí v zahraničním obchodu (IMF, WTO, IBRD) 3. Vnější a vnitřní rovnováha - Swanův diagram, Mundellův model - situace v ČR ve srovnání s ostatními tranzitivními ekonomikami 4. Teorie platební bilance - jednotlivé přístupy - automatické vyrovnávací mechanismy platební bilance 5. Analýza běžného účtu platební bilance - situace a vývoj v ČR ve srovnání s ostatními tranzitivními ekonomikami 6. Analýza finančního a ostatních účtů platební bilance - situace a vývoj v ČR ve srovnání s ostatními tranzitivními ekonomikami 7. Úloha investic při podpoře zahraničního obchodu - investiční pobídky - činnost Czech Investu 8. Nástroje zahraničně-obchodní politiky - jejich členění - kritéria volby nástrojů 9. Smluvní nástroje zahraničně-obchodní politiky 10. Autonomní nástroje zahraničně-obchodní politiky 11. Úloha proexportní politiky 12. Úloha institucí ovlivňujících zahraniční obchod v ČR - Czech Trade - České exportní banky - EGAP apod. 13. Vnější měnová politika - úloha centrální banky v zahraničním obchodu 14. Devalvace měny a zlepšení obchodní bilance - Marshall-Lernerova podmínka - typy inflace vyplývající z devalvace
