The course of national accounts systems introduce individuals to the various aspects of the evidence of the macroeconomics aggregates. Moreover, they also learn a lot about ESA 1995. The individuals will be able to describe and define different statistical problems among the countries. The course enables the individuals to start their careers in the national statistical offices.

Summary

The course of national accounts systems introduce individuals to the various aspects of the evidence of the macroeconomics aggregates. Moreover, they also learn a lot about ESA 1995. The individuals will be able to describe and define different statistical problems among the countries. The course enables the individuals to start their careers in the national statistical offices.

Subject syllabus:

Outline of lectures 1. Introductory lecture, terms of completing the course, the main macroeconomic aggregates 2. The meaning and function of the national accounts, economic indicators systems development. 3. National economy as a system, the definition of the national economy for the needs of national accounting. 4. General aspects of the system of national accounts. Production, income, savings and accumulation, wealth and its changes. 5. Basic categories of national accounting. Institutional sectors, industries, transactions. 6. Accounts and financial balance. Accounts for institutional sectors and their sequence. 7. Symmetric input-output tables and their use, structural analysis. 8. Satellite accounts. Social matrix. Quarterly national accounts, short-term forecasts of aggregates of GDP formation and use - modeling. Regional accounts. 9. United Nations System of National Accounts and its revisions. 10. European System of Integrated Economic Accounts and its revisions. 11. System of National Accounts in the Czech Republic as the basic source for macroeconomic analysis and comparison. Availability, retrieval and processing of data for analytical purposes. 12. Usage of the system of national accounts in macroeconomic analysis and comparative economics. Case studies. Outline of seminars 1. Introductory lesson. Conditions, outline. Data sources for the economic analysis, software. Structure of the ESA 1995 and SNA 1993 manual. 2. Production. Different methods for calculating GDP, analysis to GDP growth factors in the country. The importance of the institutional sector to the GDP. 3. Analysis of the household sector and government institutions in the country. Characteristics, significance, function, subsectors. Sequence sector accounts. 4. Analysis of technical and economic ties in the country. Resources and uses tables, types of technical coefficients. SIOT, complex consumption coefficients. 5. Regional accounts and their use in the macroeconomic analysis of the Czech Republic. Quarterly National Accounts of the Czech Republic and conjunctural analysis. 6. Alternative data sources for macroeconomic analysis. Working with data, time series, the use of quantitative methods of economic analysis.
