The goal of the subject is understanding of meaning the decission-making in management and gaining basic skills by solving the decission-making problems.

Summary

Students are able to define basic terminology at the decision-making theory, specify approches to the decision-making solutions, define the decision-making structure, recognise the decision-making.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

This course is finalished with the project submitting. The project on the concrete topic shows the ability to solve the concrete decision- making problem and to understand the decision methods theory. Students konsult the chosen decision problem with the teacher during the semestr.

The subject is finalised with the project submitting and its defending on the concrete topic. It shows the abbility to applicate the topis for the concrete decision-making situation.

Subject syllabus:

1. Decision making as a part of management. Subject and goal of decision making theory. 2. Thypology of decision making processes. Structure and phases of decision making process. 3. Quantitative methods for decision making and their characteristics. 4. Monocriterial methods for decision-making. 5. Decision making in certainty, uncertainty and risk. 6. Decision trees and decision network. 7. Decision-making analysis and its phases. 8. Methods for evaluation of criterias. Savage principle, minimax principle and Hurwitz principle. 9. The Analytical Hierarchy Process and its application. 10. Mathematical methods for support of decision-making and Operations Research. 11. DEA method and its application. 12. Game theory.
