Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The subject offers students the possibility to gain the basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the design, testing and applications of business process models with application available SW products.

Summary

After completing the course students will be able to work with the system business models EMA.PM , specifically with the products-cost model, producing model and financial model. In addition, they will be explained with the principles of formulating simulation model based on the dynamics methods system and the operation in Powersim software environment which supports this method.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

The exam consists of two parts – written and oral. In written part are checked theoretical and practical skills from the creating and editing area. The course credit is based on the practical proving of creation simulations models.

Subject syllabus:

1. Introducing to the systems theory and systems thinking. 2. Economics-mathematical modeling, model classification. 3. Structural analysis of business processes. Structural models of interdisciplinary relationships. 4. Software support of structural models. Business model systém EMA.PM. 5. Product-cost model, productions model and financial model in EMA.PM environment. 6. Software support of structural models – other available products. 7. Soft systems metodology, approaches to the model creating. 8. Fundament of systems dynamics 9. Stages of creating model process by helping of systems dynamics. 10. Systems dynamics software support. Introducing of Powersim SW product. 11. Simulation model software support – other available SW products – main characteristics and differences. 12. Simulation models – creating and testing. 13. Logistic processes and its simulation model possibilities.
