After completing this subject, students will be able to understand and apply the following skills and topic areas: - undermining effects on building structures; - design and reliability assessment of structures on undermining area; - rectification, protection and reconstruction of object on undermining area.

1. Underground mining; effects on the surface. 2. Syncline parameters. 3. Construction sites classification; solid, flexible and combined objects. 4. Effects of continuous deformation of terrain; friction in footing bottom. 5. Increased earth pressure; application of slide joints. 6. Effects of terrain inclination and curvature on solid and flexible construction systems 7. Masonry and panel objects. 8. Reinforced concrete and steel structures. 9. Industrial structures and crane tracks. 10. Concrete and steel bridges. 11. Roads and railways. 12. Pylons; water structures. 13. Rectification of objects. 14. Strengthening of objects.
