Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Within the framework of the subject “Structures exposed to the effects of extreme loads”, students will be acquainted with problems of designing and assessing the reliability of structures exposed to the effects of extreme loads, such as fires, explosions, impact from vehicles, floods, exceptional snow falls, seismicity, undermining, aggressive environmental factors. Students have to obtain and demonstrate a sufficient general overview about the structures exposed to the effects of extreme loads. Students will also receive an individual project in relation to the theme of the dissertation.
