Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student will acquire knowledge in the field of design and assessment of reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete structures, such as the technology of pre- and post-tensioned prestressed concrete, material properties, design of prestressing, effect of prestressing on structures, changes of prestressing, check of ultimate resistance and serviceability limit states, the analysis of the anchorage zone and other discontinuity zones. Truss analogy, stress field model, interaction of internal forces acting on concrete section. Creep, shrinkage and ageing of concrete, structural analysis of step-by-step constructed structures, simplified and numerical methods for creep analysis
