Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic aspects of urban engineering. Attention is paid to the historical development of settlements and their influence on the contemporary image of the towns, detailed urban functions and current problems of urban development.

Summary

The subject is an introduction to the problems of municipal engineering. The parts are practically an introduction to the study of other special subjects. Students will gain a basic overview of the field of urban engineering and all its contexts, learn to understand basic relationships and links in the development of urban structures.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Elaboration of the semester work on the given topic in the required quality. Oral examination in the form of a debate on two drawned topics.

At least 70% attendance at the exercises. Absence, up to a maximum of 30%, must be excused and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides to recognize the reason for the excuse). Tasks assigned on the exercises must be hand in within the dates set by the teacher.
