Summary

Students are comprehensively acquainted with the problems of abandoned and underused areas - brownfields. Within the subject, they will learn about the facts that lead to brownfields, about the problems they cause in the settlements and the possibilities of revitalization of the areas including the sources of financing. The course also includes information on how to create contamination and how to remove it. Everything is supplemented by the discussion of the technical monuments, which are connected with the regional specifics of the Ostrava-Karvina agglomeration, especially the mining activity and its negative influence on the landscape.
