The aim of the course is to introduce the methods and procedures used in developing information systems to gain the ability to critically evaluate upcoming projects and also independently propose such a project.

Summary

Information system (IS) – definition, components, classification, issues. Strategic planning. Development of IS, requirement specifications. Design of IS architecture. Methodology for development of IS – structural, prototype, object-oriented methods. Structured analysis and design. Database system (DBS). DBMS, its role and functions. Conceptual scheme. ERA diagram. UML. Relational data model, relational DBMS, concept, requirements, tools. Querying. Relational algebra. Functional analysis. Implementation of IS. Economics of IS. Maintenance of IS. Protection of IS. CASE technology.

1. Informační technologie. Informace, informatika. 2. Informační systém (IS), problémy IS. Druhy IS. 3. Strategické plánování IS - strategie a kritéria. 4. Vývojové modely IS, formulování požadavků. 5. Navrhnutí architektury informačního systému. 7. Klasické přístupy k výstavbě IS. 8. Objektově orientovaný přístup k výstavbě IS (OO analýza a návrh) 9. Databázový systém (DBS). SŘBD a jeho funkce. 10. Konceptuální schéma. ERA diagram. UML diagramy. 11. Relační datový model, relační DBS a jeho podmínky. 12. Dotazování nad relační DB. Relační algebra. 13. Funkční analýza. Diagram toku dat. 14. Zavádění IS a jejich ekonomika. Provoz a údržba IS. Ochrana IS. 15. Technologie CASE.
