The aim of the course is to introduce the methods and procedures used in developing information systems to gain the ability to critically evaluate upcoming projects and also independently propose such a project.

Summary

Information system (IS) – definition, components, classification, issues. Strategic planning. Development of IS, requirement specifications. Design of IS architecture. Methodology for development of IS – structural, prototype, object-oriented methods. Structured analysis and design. Database system (DBS). DBMS, its role and functions. Conceptual scheme. ERA diagram. UML. Relational data model, relational DBMS, concept, requirements, tools. Querying. Relational algebra. Functional analysis. Implementation of IS. Economics of IS. Maintenance of IS. Protection of IS. CASE technology.

Information technology first. Information Science. 2nd Information System (IS), IS problems. Types of IS. 3rd IS Strategic Planning - strategy and criteria. 4th IS development models, formulating requirements. Designing a fifth information system architecture. 7th Classical approaches to the construction of IS. 8th Object-oriented approach to building the IS (OO analysis and design) 9th database system (DBS). DBMS and its functions. 10th conceptual schema. ERA diagram. UML diagrams. 11th relational data model, relational DBS and its conditions. 12th querying relational DB. Relational algebra. 13th functional analysis. Data Flow Diagram. 14th Implementation of IS and their economy. Operation and maintenance of IS. Privacy IS. 15th CASE technology.
